Rajnish Kumar Wiki Profile Salary Biography Age (SBI Chairman) : Rajnish Kumar has been appointed as the next chairman of the Largest Bank of India – State Bank of India, replacing the incumbent Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya whose term shall end this week. He has been appointed as Chairman for a period of three years. Various media houses have already been reporting that Rajnish Kumar is the front runner for the post.
Rajnish Kumar’s experience is as under:
Rajnish Kumar joined as a probationary officer with SBI in 1980 and has continued with the bank and its sister concerns for a period of more than three decades.
Interestingly, his predecessor, Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya has also joined SBI as a probationary officer. During his illustrious career, he has held wide range of positions in SBI. He has been the Managing director of SBI since May 2015.
Rajnish Kumar served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at SBI Capital Markets Limited from July 31, 2014 to June 22, 2015. Prior to this, he served as Head of the Project Finance and Leasing SBU of the State Bank of India as the Chief General Manager.
Rajnish Kumar has vast experience in handling large credit, project finance, foreign exchange and retail banking. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Regional Head at State Bank of India (UK). He served as also the Deputy General Manager and General Manager (NW-II) in Pune.
Rajnish Kumar served as a Vice President (Credit) in SBI Toronto (Canada) Branch. He has been a Nominee Director of SBI Life Insurance Company Limited since March 28, 2016. He has been a Director of State Bank of India since May 26 2015. He serves as a Director of SBI Foundation. He served as Director of North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd.
Rajnish Kumar Salary
The existing cash compensation of Rajnish Kumar is about Rs. 3 million per annum. In addition to the cash compensation, he also has stock options the value of which is not available in the public domain.
The compensation which will be drawn by him post being the chairman of SBI is expected to be between Rs. 3.5 – 4.0 Mn. His annual compensation fares very low compared to his peers such as Smt. Chanda Kocchhar whose remuneration is about Rs 60 Mn.
